Hi there! My name is Grace, and I'm the founder and stringer at Heart Strings Lacrosse. 

I've been stringing women's lacrosse sticks for nearly a decade. Formerly Philly Pockets, I've strung for D1 players, state champions, and pros. I've been running my own stringing business since I was a teenager and was a stringer at LaxCon in 2020. 

I was a player for most of my life, starting in first grade in a youth league and playing all the way up through high school varsity and year-round club team. I will forever cherish my time having the privilege to play lacrosse. 

How did I start stringing, you ask?

One night before a club tournament, my strings ripped. I didn't have a viable backup stick, so I took some string out of a kiddie stick, zoomed in to a picture of a lacrosse pocket, and figured out how to crosslace. Then, I couldn't stop. I was constantly unstringing and restringing my stick. For fun. I liked taking things apart and putting them back together, perfecting each knot, interlock, and pattern. It was addicting. 

I kept going. I eventually fully restrung my own stick. My teammates asked me to do theirs too. They encouraged me to start an Instagram page, and @phillypockets was born. Some amazing fellow stringers noticed my account and helped me out over the years, giving me tips, sharing their supplies, and encouraging me. 

I closed shop for a few years but recently reopened and rebranded as Heartstrings! I wanted a brand that was creative, non-geographical, and representative of why we play the game in the first place: the love of the game and the heart behind it. Exclusively for women's lacrosse, I hope to bring my experience as a player into my craft. 

Additionally, I hope to further stringing education with the content I post. A lot of girls know nothing about stringing or how their pocket works. I hope to be able to educate players so they feel confident in stringing and maintaining their own pockets someday!
