FAQ

  • So how does mailing my head in for stringing work?
    • Detach the head from the shaft.
    • Cut out the old strings (pretty please).
    • Put it into a mailing envelope. (You don't need a box or bubble wrap. Remember, lacrosse heads get whacked for a living.)
    • Take it to your nearest UPS store, post office, or create a label on pirateship.com. Mail it to: 870 Cadmus Rd, Pottstown, PA 19465.
    • You will get email notifications with status updates. Awaiting lacrosse head, head received, head strung. 
  • How long does it take?
    • Typical turnaround is 1-2 weeks. 
  • Can I use Venmo?
    • To streamline the process, all payments must be made through my site, but Venmo is an option at checkout. 
  • What if I need to cancel my order?

  • I want to buy a new stick and get it strung. How should I go about that?
    • This is my favorite question! No, you do not need to spend $300 on a whole new stick. Just buy an unstrung head online, get fresh stringing in it, and put it on your old shaft. You can even have it shipped directly to me when you order it. 
  • I don't like my new stringing.
    • All stringing takes time to break in and will feel weird at first. Depending on how often you're using it, it will take 1 week to 1 month. 
    • However, if you still don't like it, I am happy to adjust it or restring it for no additional cost. Please email heartstringswlax@gmail.com if this is the case. 
  • What should I do if my head broke?
    • Unfortunately, this is illegal, and you will need to purchase a new head! I recommend going online and buying an unstrung head. You don't need a whole new stick, and you save money by buying it unstrung. 
  • I don't know what stringing I want. Can you help me?
    • Of course! Check out the descriptions in the pocket shop or email heartstringswlax@gmail.com for more customized assistance. 
  • Do you do team orders? Is there a discount?
    • YES! I love team orders, and there sure is a discount. Email me with what you're looking for and the quantity, and we'll go from there. 
  • Do you do dyes?
    • Heck no, but my good friend @wizard.strings does. 
  • Do you string ladder/rail pockets?
    • I do not. Unfortunately, they tend to break since the premade pocket pieces hold the string to the leathers with either plastic or glue. Not ideal!
    • However, I HIGHLY recommend trying a leather trad if you like ladders/rails. They have the same leather feel, but using flexible interlocks instead of plastic nubs allows for amazing catching, throwing, and holding. 
    • If you are insistent on the rail/ladder style, I can do a leather trad "Athena style". This was a pocket designed by Barefoot Lacrosse, and it is functionally identical to a ladder, but the ladders are twisted and held by interlocks instead of glue. 
  • Do you string full mesh?
    • No. Mesh channels are way better!
  • Do you string men's lacrosse heads?
    • Nope, I'm for the girls. I'd go to @wizard.strings for this. He's a pro. 
  • What colors do you have?
    • I carry pretty much every color. If I don't have it, I will let you know. 
  • How do I become a guest on the podcast?
